The Role
At LUZCO, we believe great projects start with great planning. We are looking for a Project Controls Scheduler who is organized, analytical, and enjoys working with teams to keep projects on track. This role supports project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting, and works closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout the life of a project.
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with schedules, data, and project teams, and is always looking for ways to improve processes and stay organized.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Develop, update, and maintain cost-loaded CPM project schedules and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) using Primavera P6
- Monitor schedule performance, perform critical path analysis, and help identify schedule risks and mitigation strategies
- Prepare schedule updates, dashboards, and project reports for project teams and leadership
- Develop proposal-level schedules and cost estimates, including baseline schedules, resource plans, and cost assumptions
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) activities, including schedule and cost performance tracking (SPI, CPI, forecasting)
- Assist with analysis of cost, schedule, risk, and change order data to support project forecasting and estimating
- Participate in project planning and coordination meetings to track progress and highlight potential risks
- Respond to requests for schedule, cost, and performance data clearly and in a timely manner
- Help improve project controls tools, templates, and reporting processes
- Support the team with other project controls and scheduling tasks as needed
What You'll Bring to the Familia:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related technical or analytical field
- 1–3 years of professional experience preparing, developing, or supporting project schedules, preferably in construction, utilities, infrastructure, or capital projects
- Working knowledge of CPM scheduling concepts, including activity logic, baselines, and schedule updates
- Experience with Primavera P6 or the ability to quickly learn scheduling and project controls software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret schedule, cost, and performance data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and the ability to learn new tools quickly
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience supporting utility, transmission, distribution, or substation construction projects
- Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts or performance metrics
- Professional certifications such as CAPM, PMI-SP, PMP, or similar project controls certifications (such as AACE PSP) are a plus, but not required
