We’re looking for an HR Generalist to own payroll, benefits administration, and support key HR operations. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, covering everything from onboarding and offboarding to ensuring compliance and accuracy in day-to-day processes. You’ll play a vital part in supporting employees and strengthening HR systems, while gaining exposure to a broad range of HR responsibilities in a collaborative and growing company.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Main employee data, process new hires and terminations, and conduct new hire orientations.
- Administer benefits including enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA, FMLA, and PTO
- Support 401 (k) administration and deferred compensation plans.
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits questions.
- Work with legal and external counsel on immigration cases and compliance tracking.
- Assist with HR policy administration and compliance documentation.
- Support offboarding processes, including system terminations and exit tasks.
- Prepare reports, maintain files, and track employment verifications.
- Monitor work authorization due dates and ensure compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualitfications & Skills
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration; independent ownership of these functions strongly preferred
- Proven experience processing payroll from start to finish, including handling terminations, expense reimbursements, and maintaining tax documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms and payroll systems.
- Familiarity with benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, COBRA, FMLA, PTO, 401(k) plans, deferred compensation, and ACA compliance.
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reports, data analysis, and tracking files).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, including data entry, orientation, and exit processing.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with employment verifications and monitoring work authorization due dates.
- Exposure to immigration processes and working with legal counsel on employee cases.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification.
- Experience with process improvements and system transitions.
