  • Diversity that fuels innovation: Our team brings together a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. That diversity isn’t just something we talk about; it’s what drives our creativity and helps us find better ways to solve problems.

  • Growth that feels personal: Whether you’re continuing your education, earning new certifications, or stepping into new challenges, we’re here to help you grow in the direction that’s right for you. You’ll collaborate with experienced mentors and leaders who want to see you succeed.

  • A culture that gives back: We’re passionate about our communities. Every year, we dedicate paid time off for volunteering and encourage our team to use their talents to make a difference whether that’s mentoring students, serving local nonprofits, or getting hands-on in community projects.

  • A workplace that feels like you: We keep things relaxed and welcoming. Expect weekly happy hours, team lunches, a stocked kitchen, dogs in the office, and a casual dress code. It’s a space where you can be yourself and do your best work.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated junior or senior student to join our team as an AI & Automation Intern. In this role, you’ll get hands-on experience designing, building, and improving AI agents and automation tools, primarily within the Microsoft Copilot ecosystem. You’ll manage projects from idea intake to development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement, while collaborating with SMEs and other teams. This internship is a chance to build real-world AI skills, work on practical business problems, and see your projects in action.

This is a long-term co-op/internship intended for students looking to gain experience while working part-time throughout the academic year. This is not a summer-only role and requires working in-office at our Maplewood, MO location throughout the duration of employment.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

  • Design, build, and configure internal AI agents in Copilot Studio, translating workflows into repeatable conversation flows and behaviors
  • Connect agents to approved data sources, set up their “brain,” and ensure outputs are accurate and aligned with LUZCO standards
  • Test agents with edge cases, regression checks, and structured simulations to ensure reliability and consistency
  • Collaborate with SMEs to validate outputs, track accuracy issues, and adjust agent behavior based on feedback
  • Manage AI project lifecycle support: capture use cases, define success criteria, track scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, and updates
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including test scripts, dashboards, guides, and tutorials for adoption and training
  • Track agent status from discovery → building → validating → released → improving, and help establish a repeatable intake-to-build workflow
  • Deliver production-ready agents with documented purpose, approved sources, test scripts, and SME sign-off
  • Monitor usage, identify trends, and recommend improvements to AI agents and processes
  • Support LUZCO’s broader AI adoption strategy by identifying opportunities to automate and streamline workflows

What You'll Bring to the Familia:

Essentials to Succeed:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (junior standing or higher preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to build or configure AI assistants/agents through coursework, projects, hackathons, or prior internships
  • Strong written communication skills to translate messy needs into clear requirements, instructions, and documentation
  • Comfortable collaborating with SMEs and multiple stakeholders across functions
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to experiment with AI tool

What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, or the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Completion of Copilot training or experience supporting Copilot enablement
  • AI-related coursework or certifications (ML/AI, NLP, prompt design, information retrieval, evaluation)
  • Familiarity with SharePoint content organization and grounding enterprise data
  • Exposure to project management (courses, leadership roles, internships); PMP-minded rigor is a plus

Ready to make an impact?

We know you might not check every single box on the job description—and that’s totally fine. At LUZCO, we care about potential, collaboration, and diverse perspectives.
