The Role
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with at least 3 years of experience who is excited to contribute to electric substation and power delivery projects across the full project lifecycle. In this role, you will take ownership of civil and structural design tasks, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, and support project delivery with increasing technical independence.
You will apply your experience in site design, foundations, and structural analysis while continuing to grow your technical depth and professional judgment.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Contribute to civil engineering design for electric substation projects from concept through construction
- Develop and review civil site grading and drainage designs
- Design reinforced concrete foundations for substation structures
- Perform above-grade structural analysis for steel, concrete, aluminum, and other materials
- Coordinate with internal teams to review, check, and advance engineering deliverables
- Apply sound engineering judgment to develop practical, cost-effective solutions
- Ensure work aligns with QA/QC standards and project requirements
- Manage tasks to meet project schedules and budgets, proactively communicating risks or constraints
- Participate in client coordination and technical discussions with support from project leadership
- Mentor entry-level engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment
What You'll Bring to the Familia:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering
- 3+ years of civil or structural engineering experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 25%
What Will Make You Stand Out:
- E.I.T. certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year
- Experience with design and analysis tools such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or RISA
- Familiarity with PDF tools like Bluebeam or Adobe
- Exposure to substation, utilities, or power delivery projects
