The Role
We’re seeking a Transmission Project Manager who will play a key role in delivering critical high-voltage transmission projects that power communities. In this role, you’ll own projects from early development through construction and closeout, bringing teams together, removing obstacles, and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and with purpose. You’ll be a trusted partner to clients and internal teams alike, helping turn complex challenges into successful outcomes.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Oversee transmission projects from planning and permitting through construction and closeout.
- Manage project schedules in coordination with the scheduler using Primavera P6, while overseeing permitting (environmental & real estate), detailed cost estimating, engineering design, procurement of labor and materials, and contractor/vendor management to meet client deadlines.
- Lead recurring design and construction progress meetings to keep teams aligned and on track.
- Develop detailed cost estimates and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Create and manage bid packages, evaluate contractor bids, and recommend selections to clients.
- Build strong relationships with project and construction teams through regular communication and site visits.
- Manage external vendors and contractors to meet client deadlines.
- Develop execution plans and supporting documentation for project authorization and funding.
- Provide regular updates to the PM Supervisor and client on schedule, cost, risks, and issues.
- Travel within the client’s service territory as needed.
What You’ll Bring to the Familia:
Essentials to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ PM experience managing transmission or distribution projects or (5) years construction management experience managing transmission or distribution projects.
- Experience must include the construction phase of project execution.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with industry, government, and public stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- PMP certification preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Valid driver’s license required.
